Andrew is the Clinical Director of The Open Practice, realising his vision of establishing an exceptional clinic with an integrative approach to healthcare. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Andrew is a BABCP-accredited psychotherapist, trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including CBT, CFT, EMDR, ACT, and systemic family therapy, among others.

His distinctive and impactful approach has been central to shaping the work we do at The Open Practice. No matter what challenges his clients face, Andrew stands by them, offering hope even when they struggle to find it themselves. He specialises in working with clients from all backgrounds and circumstances, and for the past 10 years, he has been training clinicians across the country, helping them enhance their own practice and better support their clients.

Integrating Retained Reflexes, Neuro-Developmental Therapy

Bob Allen has been working as a Neuro-Developmental Therapist since 1994. He joins us to practice Neural Stimulation focused on retained primitive reflexes. Bob has extensive experience working with children and adults, ranging from 10 months to 72 years old, addressing a wide variety of behavioral, emotional, and physiological challenges, especially those associated with neuro-developmental disorders.

In 2019, Attention Please was released—a short documentary created by Andrea Thornton, a parent of one of Bob’s clients. Inspired by the profound impact Bob’s neuro-developmental therapy had on her child, Andrea explored his work and its transformative potential in this film. Vagus Nerve Stimulation, Pain and Injury Therapy

Ben Fedrick brings a wealth of expertise to The Open Practice, with a strong foundation in Sports Science (BSc Hons, 2011) and a Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage (2014). His early passion for anatomy and physical rehabilitation motivated him to pursue advanced training in Neurokinetic Therapy, Anatomy in Motion, Primal Movement, Immaculate Dissection, and SFMA courses. His focus is on helping clients regain effective regulation of their autonomic nervous system through body-based movements designed to stimulate the vagus nerve and physical rehabilitation, merging this knowledge into a unique approach to pain management.

After starting his career as a personal trainer in 2011, Ben shifted his focus to improving movement and reducing pain. In 2014, he founded Ben Fedrick Injury Therapy, where he successfully helped many individuals overcome various conditions. Now, he brings his knowledge and skills to The Open Practice, continuing to support clients in their recovery.

Jacqui Mayes, Nutritional Therapy

Jacqui is a dedicated Nutritional Therapist who employs an individualised, integrative approach, using Nutrition, Functional Medicine, Herbs, functional tests and emotional wellness strategies to unpick and address the root cause of client’s conditions. She has a particular interest in auto-immune conditions, and her successful track record extends to supporting people with; ADHD, IBS and other gut related issues, mould toxicity, migraines, skin conditions, Diabetes and Asthma. She enjoys working with Women’s Health concerns, supporting fertility, PMS, PMDD, PCOS and hormonal changes associated with menopause. The strategies that she employs help to balance hormones which may also help to support the changing cycle symptoms of ASD’s. She has a personal and professional interest in Neurodivergent conditions.

Lead Physio, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

Simon Orr has dedicated 25 years to the health and fitness industry. After managing gyms and personal training, he retrained as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist 15 years ago. Simon specialises in sports and exercise rehabilitation, successfully helping elite and recreational athletes return to fitness. He also treats general musculoskeletal conditions and collaborates closely with leading Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Consultants in Hampshire. Since 2020, Simon has been proud to train student physiotherapists from the University of Southampton. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling and spending time with his wife and two children.

In 2015, Simon and his wife founded SoPhysical, which has since grown into a team of dedicated experts specialising in physiotherapeutic health and injury recovery. With 16 years of social work experience (BSc Hons, 2007; MS, 2009), Ana Baciu is a skilled therapeutic practitioner dedicated to empowering children and adults to reach their potential. Specialising in retained primitive reflexes, Ana was trained by expert Bob Allen and supports individuals and families in overcoming emotional, educational, and social challenges.

A qualified Neuro-Developmental Therapist with advanced training in the INPP’s movement program, Ana customises her integrative approach to meet each client’s unique needs. She combines deep expertise and empathy, fostering a supportive environment for growth and healing.

Ana also offers Johansen Individualised Auditory Stimulation Therapy (JIAS), a personalised auditory program using tailored music to enhance attention, learning, and auditory processing. Her expertise encompases counselling, neuro-linguistic programming, parenting, and life coaching, allowing her to address complex life challenges and promote communication, understanding, and personal growth in her clients.

Chantal provides counselling for adults and young people aged 16+, supporting clients through challenges like anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues, family dynamics, identity, and self-esteem. Chantal is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a registered provider with BUPA, bringing expertise and professionalism to her practice. She views counselling as a collaborative relationship built on mutual respect. Chantal creates a safe space to explore concerns, organise thoughts, and make sense of difficult situations. Her client-centred approach combines theoretical and practical methods tailored to individual needs.

Chantal sees therapy as a partnership. She actively engages in the process, helping clients increase self-awareness and identify unhelpful patterns. Her aim is to support meaningful changes that restore wellbeing and encourage personal growth.

Helena has considerable experience in providing psychotherapy, she has been working in the NHS providing talking Therapy since 2013.

As an accredited BABCP psychotherapist, Helena uses a variety of approaches such as Trauma informed CBT, somatic therapy, Breathwork, drawing from the third wave therapies such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Helena works with people who are experiencing difficulties such as depression, anxiety, low self-confidence and trauma. She also supports parents who are experiencing emotional difficulties related to Perinatal stages (pregnancy, birth and post birth).

Helena is flexible in her approach to therapy, using a person-centred approach which means she works collaboratively with the client to meet the individual needs and expectations for therapy.

Helena offers therapy in both English as well as Spanish and Catalan languages.

Gina Selby, Psychotherapist, Energy Therapist

Gina brings a wealth of experience to her practice, with a background in occupational therapy, an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a PhD in Alternative Medicine. She is also a graduate of a master’s programme in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Time Line Therapy (TLT) and is accredited with both the HCPC and UKCP.

She offers a diverse range of therapies tailored to meet individual needs. These include person-centred psychotherapy, personal construct psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), timeline therapy, emotional freedom therapy, mindfulness, and emotional journey work. She also incorporates specialised techniques such as SCENAR therapy (self-controlled energetic neuroadaptive regulation), Reiki, radionics treatment, polyvagal therapy, coherent breathing, anxiety management, grief therapy, and support for compassion and anger management. She has a particular interest in the importance of Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and HeartMath in health.

Gina works with individuals, couples, families, and people of all ages, creating a safe and compassionate space to enable change and wellbeing. She works with anyone who wishes to engage with her in an open and sometimes unconventional way.

She is particularly interested in collaborating with The Open Practice team to design and develop coherent, tailor-made programmes for each person.

Nick Gallogly

Consultant Orthotist

Nick Gallogly has over 15 years of experience as a Consultant Orthotist and currently leads the orthotic services at the Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust Hospital. As chair of NOMaG, a group of NHS clinical managers for orthotic services, he is a key figure in advancing orthotic care across England.

Nick is deeply involved in education, lecturing on orthotic management for foot and ankle conditions and serving as an external examiner for undergraduate training since 2020. He also contributed to Essentials of Foot and Ankle Surgery (2021), authoring the chapter "Principles of Foot and Ankle Orthoses."

Clinically, Nick runs paediatric and adult clinics, specialising in musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and diabetic care. Nationally recognised for managing foot and ankle injuries in sport, he supports elite athletes and teams, including GB Rowing, the England rugby team, and several Premier League football clubs.

Nick first qualified from Dublin City University with an honours degree in Medical Mechanical Engineering, where he developed an interest in prosthetics and orthotics. This led him to pursue an honours degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics, graduating in 2008, and later an MSc in Clinical Biomechanics at Staffordshire University in 2014.

In 2021, Nick was recognised by the NHS as one of only two Consultant Orthotists working in the UK.

Ben has been a key member of The Open Practice since its inception, playing an instrumental role in its development and growth. He works closely with the team to implement clinical measures and ensure the delivery of evidence-based care at the highest standard.

Ben is involved in the design and execution of pilot studies to assess new interventions, helping to shape both clinical practices and broader initiatives within the practice. His role focuses on integrating new, data-driven approaches to continuously improve the services offered.

A passionate advocate for diverse psychological modalities, Ben receives clinical supervision from Andrew Harpham-Salter and Gina Selby, supporting clients through a range of therapies, including decreet pieces of CBT, mindfulness, and breathwork. Additionally, he has trained with Ben Fedrick in the Vagus Nerve Optimisation and is currently helping to design and deliver a new group-based intervention using natural, body-based vagus nerve stimulation.

Ben holds a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology and an MRes with Distinction in Psychological Research Methods. His warm, approachable demeanor, combined with his clinical understanding and collaborative nature, enables him to work seamlessly with both practitioners and clients, supporting the ongoing success and development of The Open Practice.

Kate Hudson

Neurodevelopmental & Education Specialist

Kate Hudson is an experienced Neurodevelopmental and Education Specialist with over 20 years of experience supporting neurodiverse children. Her career has seen her work in a range of settings, including specialist schools, state schools, and leading prep schools, where she has held roles such as classroom teacher, Head of Learning Development, SENCO, and Deputy Head (Pastoral).

Kate specialises in helping children with learning differences, including dyslexia, ADHD, ASD, and DCD. Her warm, engaging approach is tailored to each child, helping them gain confidence, independence, and a love of learning. She develops personalised interventions to overcome challenges and build executive functioning skills.

Working closely with families, schools, and clinical practitioners, Kate takes a holistic approach to supporting children’s educational and emotional development. She integrates cognitive-behavioural strategies to promote self-regulation, emotional resilience, and confidence, ensuring that her work creates lasting, positive change.

Kate also offers a range of specialist services, including 1:1 tutoring and coaching, executive functioning coaching, school success strategies, and parental coaching and support. Her focus is on providing children and families with the tools and strategies they need to reach their full potential and navigate the complexities of education and life with confidence.

Alison Johnstone

General Practitioner

Dr Alison Johnstone is an experienced GP and has been working in the Basingstoke area for over 20 years following a career as a military doctor in the British Army. She offers a holistic approach to medicine and enjoys all aspects of General Practice with a particular interest in Women’s Health and Travel Medicine. She is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, and her qualifications include a diploma from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health (DFSRH) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PGCME). Dr Johnstone also has substantial knowledge and experience in the field of Travel Medicine.
